Video Linkage

Remember all those times I’ve posted videos up on here and you’ve clicked through on them because you trusted my impeccable taste in visual entertainment or you wanted to prove how terrible it is by watching the video and hrmphing and ughing in response?

Well, while you did that you were contributing to a study on how music videos get shared and viewed.  Blogs and video sites like youtube are the winners:

click on me to read the article!

So in the spirit of continued sharing:

Little Bites Vids – I’m almost better version!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  I’d say that within 12 hours, I’ll be all good to not spend so much damn time in my bed, on my computron.  SO until then:

Here’s some more upbeat amazing vids (to be updated throughout the last day of my intended recovery)

This one care of the lovely Ruby:

This one care of some random clicking. I want to see this girl live.

Robots

I kind of really love this.

As in I REALLY REALLY REALLY love it.

I was lead to his music by a lady who posted a different video by him, which also filled my heart with a lovely lightness.

I think this lady will want to include this video in her ‘this week in robots’

I think when this guy starts to write in his blog again, he’ll want to do some sort of philosophical analysis of this video.

I think this guy will be the first to comment on this entry, and hopefully it will inspire him to post again.

I think this guy would really like to listen to this song while walking on one of his ridicu-epic walks.

I think this lady will likely want a whole new wardrobe consisting of the images from the first video.

I think this lady should probably link to this guy’s music at some point in her required reading, because he’s kind of incredible.

Speaking of incredible; this lady had the most lovely of lovely concerts last saturday. She still wins for the title of ‘Musician most capable of taking my breath away and making me tear up.’  Search for her in the news.  She’s kind of a big deal.

There’s a lady I can’t link to, who also thinks that musician is a big deal.  I think that lady knows that I think she should start writing online again.  Her vision and presentation is kind of incredible.

I think that’s enough for cryptically linked messages.

HappyTuesday.

Little Bites Four – Gaza War

I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza Strip.

I have been trying to stay informed about it and these are some of the links to some videos and articles that have been informative for me.  They are more in depth than news articles or news videos.

I will continue to update this post as more sources become available to me.

  • Debate on War Crimes - From BBC NEWS: “Professor Iain Scobbie of SOAS and Harvard law Professor Alan Dershowitz debate if war crimes have been committed during the Gaza conflict. “
  • The Case for War Crimes – From BBC NEWS: “Tim Whewell considers whether war crimes have been committed during the Gaza conflict. “
  • Wikipedia defines War Crime -  “”violations of the laws or customs of war”, including but not limited to “murder, the ill-treatment or deportation of civilian residents of an occupied territory to slave labour camps”, “the murder or ill-treatment of prisoners of war”, the killing of hostages, “the wanton destruction of cities, towns and villages, and any devastation not justified by military necessity”.
  • NYTimes Article that changed my paradigm – Jan 12th – “Israelis United on Gaza War as Censure Rises Abroad “  I can’t say that I agree with the position of this article, but it certainly helped me to think about this conflict from the eyes of Israelis.
  • A piece about media bias - this news source is linked to CNN, so I am hesitant to link to it. The following radio interview speaks about why the ‘bias’ is occurring.
  • Radio Interview - Sanchia Berg reports on the death toll in Gaza and Israeli spokesman Mark Regev discusses civilian casualities.  Sanchia Berg does a very good job of heavily questioning the reasoning for the journalistic ban/limitation.  Israel is letting some journalists in, but not others.  Sanchia Berg is very obviously angry.  This is really interesting.

I’m getting a little bit tired of claims that what is happening in Gaza is acceptable because other countries have done the same things in other wars.  I’m sorry, but how old were you when you learned that it is not ok to jump off a bridge because other people do so?  The innocent people need to stop being targeted. That’s it.

nothing says sick like a bunch of random videos

I’m sick.

I’m talkin’ full blown I’m experiencing delerium, headaches, stuffy nose, chest cough, sore throat, itchy eyes, I feel like I’ve been hit by a tanker kind of sick.

I’m so sick I’m not even going to fix that last sentence because I just want to get to watchin’ my videos…

and I’m watching A LOT today. so I’m going to post some of my favourites… the kind that make me feel okay about stayin’ at home, drinking orange juice while I blow my nose and sneeze and feel sorry for myself.

This first video called Caldonia Music nearly melted my heart. It’s from the movie “Love Me or Leave Me” (1955).  The kid (Sugar Chile Robinson) has the kindest, warmest, most adorable eyes I’ve seen in a while. So cute. and MAN can he play the piano… it has to be him, right?

Okay and this one is exactly what I needed. What’s a better medicine than a lion hug? The news commentators are annoying, but it’s worth it.

So then I got hungry after watching an AWESOME  instructional cooking video.  Mmmmm….

aw yah. boyfriend brought home some carrot ginger soup.  I gots me some energy for some more video watchin’

Feeling a little existential? Try this one on for size. But don’t start arguing with me about the difference between men and monkeys. I’ll throw my feces at you.

I watched a video that was very boring, but I DID learn that if you want to peel a potato really quickly, you just boil it whole with its skin on, and then put it in an ice bath for 5seconds, and then peel the skin off with your hands.  I personally like the taste of potato skin, even in smashed potatoes, so this isn’t all that useful for me… but I’m sick… so I get to write about whatever I want.

i think we’re alone now

went for a lovely skate the other morning, got some shwarma and sat and ate it in the sun in the park.  watched many dog owners… and watched an especially adorable lab follow around a woman that was rearranging the garbage in the park before trying to dig into her styrofoam of chinese food.  the dog followed her for more than 10 minutes. it was quite hilarious.

saw two love birds playing

looked up tiffany’s song on youtube and found this butchering of the song. I don’t reccomend watching all of it. it’s bad.

don’t mess with my tiffany. i’ll get my lovebirds to peck your eyes out.
